Dr. Monica Ardura is a pediatric infectious diseases (ID) physician at Nationwide Children’s Hospital (NCH) and Professor of Pediatrics at The Ohio State University. As the Medical Director of the ID Host Defense Program, her clinical and research interests focus on the epidemiology and management of infections in immunocompromised children, including children with underlying malignancies and solid organ and hematopoietic cell transplantation recipients.  She is a clinical educator committed to the education of fellows in the subspecialty of pediatric transplant and immunocompromised ID, serving as the Program Director for the ID Host Defense Fellowship and Associate Program Director for the Pediatric ID Fellowship at NCH. Dr. Ardura is an active member of the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society (PIDS), served as co-Chair of the Transplant Infectious Diseases Education Subcommittee; former Vice-Chair and Chair of the Infectious Diseases Committee of the International Pediatric Transplantation Association (IPTA), past Chair of the Pediatrics Working Group of the ID Community of Practice for the American Society of Transplantation, and active member of the Infectious Diseases Society of America, Children’s Oncology Group, and American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), and AAP Committee on Infectious Diseases.
