Prof. Dr. Dieter Broering is currently the Executive Director, Organ Transplant Centre of Excellence, King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre, Professor of Surgery, Alfaisal University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia since 2010. Finished Medicine, University of Dusseldorf 1992; Board Certified in Surgery, Hamburg 1997; Habilitation PhD in Surgery, University of Hamburg 2004; 2nd PhD Clinical Hepatology, Semmelweis University, Budapest, Hungary 2006; Fellow American College of Surgeons 2018.  Chairman, Surgery Department, KFSH&RC Oct 2010–Aug 2020. Has >294 publications, total Impact Factor 834.816; 191 national/international scientific presentations/accepted abstracts; 185 unpublished scientific lectures as invited national/international speaker.

He is a World-Renowned Multi-Organ Transplant Surgeon, International Expert in Living Donor Liver Transplantation. Established various programs on living and deceased liver donation for pediatric and adult, split liver transplantation, and minimally invasive and robotic donor hepatectomy and nephrectomy through international collaboration.  Significant achievements of transplantation programs of Organ Transplant Center of Excellence, KFSH&RC under his leadership placed Institution and Saudi Arabia at par/leading among world-leading centers in organ transplantation. Center is now leading internationally in Robotic Donor Hepatectomy, performed 790 full robotic donor hepatectomies as of 21 January 2023.  It is the only Centre now wherein 100% of all liver donors are benefiting from minimal invasive robotic transplant surgery procedure.
